OUR CHALLENGE

Every week McIntyre Centre Ltd. (McIntyre Centre) provides a mix of therapy based horse riding programs to over 170 children and young people with a disability. Our highly motivated and skilled coaches and staff deliver riding activities that enable these young people to reach their full potential through improving their physical, social and communication abilities. An activity as straight forward as riding a horse often brings about such significant change for the better in these young riders.

This has shaped our message to you: “Simple Pleasures, Amazing Benefits”

Unfortunately, there are at least another 200 children with disabilities on our waiting list who are unable to experience these “Amazing Benefits” due to constrained riding and support facilities at the McIntyre Centre. It can take up to five years to secure a place in our riding programs. This is unacceptable.

Most of the 33 year old infrastructure at the Centre needs urgent upgrading and development, with requirements for expanded equestrian, therapy and training facilities as well as additional parking spaces, toilets and administration services.

A Concept Master Plan and Business Plan have been professionally prepared for this much needed expansion and improvement of the Centre’s facilities and we are seeking your help to rise to this challenge.

OUR OBJECTIVES

Our primary objective is to further expand the service offering and use of the McIntyre Centre, by taking a multi-purpose approach to meeting the needs of young people with a disability, while still sustaining the core of our business, which is equine based. This expanded service profile will be delivered through the four activity streams illustrated in the adjacent diagram.
